Between a Rock and a
Hard Place
Rarely is that ever a place you hope to find yourself—or one that affords many choices. But when we’re talking about Choices & More, the Hill Country’s most sought-after destination boutique, well then, we’re talking a whole different story!Unexpectedly nestled in with a rock yard off Highway 281 N, Choices & More is a veritable haven of all things feminine and unique. And if you can suspend your disbelief about its location long enough to peek inside, you’ll be in shock again when you walk through the door. “Our first-time customers are usually floored,” says Katie Judd, the store’s manager.“We’ve tried very, very hard to create a beautiful, special place, one that will inspire our customers and help them create a haven in their own homes.” That was the philosophy that led Katie and her sister, Brenda Thomas, the store’s owner, to make a long-cherished dream a reality — and it’s accounted for their terrific success. “When the time was right, we just went for it,” says Brenda. Together, they’ve created something truly unique and ever-changing, and that offers choices, choices, choices — and then some more. Brenda and Katie travel far and wide to market and bring bac kthe freshest, one-of-a-kind pieces they can find. Eclectic lamps, sumptuous floral arrangements, lighted willow branches, scented candles to swoon over—when it comes to home accessories, they’ve got it. They’re also an “exquisite dealer” of Willow Tree figurines, carrying many that are unusual and hard-to-find. Equally unique are their fashions and jewelry; whether going totally casual or out on the town, you can dress them up or down as you please—and you won’t see anyone else wearing them!“ We really wanted to bring our customers something different — and to keep doing that,” says Brenda, which is why their loyal customers stop in often to see their latest finds. And if you need help getting it all to come together in your home, Brenda and Katie would love to meet you there and lend their designing eyes. “We love helping customers in their homes — it’s amazing what accessorizing and rearranging can do to create a whole new look,”they say. While you’re shopping, be sure to bring your husband along to see what Bill, Brenda’s husband, has too ffer at Thomas Stone & Materials next door. He’s got one of the Hill Country’s largest selections of natural stone, both for indoor and outdoor masonry. And if you’re in the market for something other than stone or soil, Bill’s got you covered…with grass that is. Bill boasts one of the area’s best selections of grass, mulch, and soil, and it’s the perfect time of the year to green your lawn with fresh grass after the winter. “We’ve built our business on customer service,” says Bill. “ No sale is too large or too small, and our knowledgeable staff will see that you find just what you need.” A retired veteran himself, he offers discounts for active and retired military, as well as for contractors. How’s that for a day’s shopping — something to please both him and her!
